Prohibited Conduct and Reporting Procedures
At Orange Coast College, we uphold a commitment to foster a safe, inclusive, and nondiscriminatory environment for our students, employees, and visitors. Under Title IX, the following conduct is prohibited:
- Sex discrimination
- Sex-based harassment
- Sexual harassment
- Sexual assault
- Stalking
- Relationship violence (dating violence and domestic violence)

Note: Due to a federal injunction related to the 2024 Title IX Regulations, OCC and GWC will continue to enforce the 2020 Title IX rules under CCCD BP/AP 5910 Sexual Misconduct until further notice.
Accountability for Offenders
Acts of sex discrimination and sex-based harassment, including relationship violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and stalking have serious consequences, including campus sanctions, criminal prosecution, and civil penalties.
Campus Sanctions:
Sanctions are consequences imposed on students or employees found responsible for violating District policies.- For Students: Sanctions are outlined in BP/AP 5500 Student Code of Conduct and may include:
- Disciplinary probation.
- Suspension or expulsion.
- Educational assignments or corrective measures.
- For Employees: Sanctions follow BP/AP 3435 Prohibition of Discrimination and Harassment and collective bargaining agreements and may include:
- Formal reprimands.
- Mandatory training.
- Termination or other disciplinary actions.
Legal Consequences:
Offenders may face criminal prosecution, fines and other court-ordered damages, imprisonment, and civil lawsuits financial compensation related to medical expenses, therapy and counseling costs. lost wages and emotional distress.
