• How do I qualify for CalWORKs at Orange Coast College?

  To qualify, students must:

  • Be enrolled in at least one credit or non-credit course at OCC.
  • Receive cash aid assistance for themselves and at least one minor dependent.

  
  To learn more about the eligibility requirements through the county, visit the California Department of Social Services website.
• How do I join CalWORKs at OCC?

  The onboarding process consists of:

  • Intake Application 
  • Submission of your Web Schedule Bill
  • Program Orientation 
  • Counseling Appointment

• Can I get financial aid if I am receiving CalWORKs services?
  Yes, college loans, grants, and work-study funds do not count towards your Income Reporting Threshold (IRT). If the county has reduced your aid due to financial aid, please contact our CalWORKs staff at calwork@occ.cccd.edu.
