OCC Guideline and Class Types

The following are class types at Orange Coast College.

• Fully Online - Asynchronous - no scheduled meeting time
• Synchronous Online/Live Online - Live scheduled meeting time(s) required
• Hybrid Online - Includes both asynchronous and synchronous (scheduled) coursework
• Hybrid On-Campus - Includes on-campus and asynchronous online coursework--(some course work on campus and some online – these courses are often in health sciences, technology, and other essential labs.)
• Fully On-Campus - A number of courses will return on campus in a traditional format, and students will see these locations in the schedule. 

  These courses include art and dance activity classes, physical education activity classes,  a variety of general education and classes in English for non-native speakers.
