Sigma Kappa Delta

Sigma Kappa Delta accepts applications for membership twice per year with deadlines for submitting applications on March 15 in spring and October 15 in fall. Membership requirements appear below, followed by a link to the application form and instructions  for submitting it. Permanent membership is the only membership that confers transcript notation and honors graduation privileges.

Minimum criteria for Initial Membership:​ 

• Enrolled in at least 6 units of coursework at Orange Coast College, including at least one English class and/or have scored a 4 or higher on the AP English Literature or Composition exam
• Completed fewer than 12 units of Orange Coast College coursework at the time of application OR
• Graduated high school within the year prior to applying and earned a final minimum high school cumulative GPA (grades 9- 12) of 3.50​

Minimum criteria for Permanent Membership​: 

• Enrolled in at least 6 units of letter-graded coursework at Orange Coast College at the time of application
• Completed at least 12 units of letter-graded coursework at Orange Coast College
• Two or more qualifying courses completed with letter-grades and a minimum average GPA of 3.0 among them
• Earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all completed college coursework (at least 12 units)
