Transfer Opportunity Program (TOP)

Our History

Since 1991, the Transfer Opportunity Program (TOP) has been preparing its students to transfer to four-year universities through an abundance of resources, services, and tools to help them achieve their 4-year university transfer goals. Over the past 30 years, TOP has been committed to providing students with a support system that will enhance their experience at Orange Coast.

WHO COULD BENEFIT?

The TOP requirements, resources, and support services that come in the way of ccounseling, academic support, registration assistance, and peer mentoring are specifically to meet the needs of first-generation college students.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

To be eligible for TOP, applicants must have graduated from high school the spring (2025) prior to their first fall (2025) semester and must have an interest in transferring to a four-year university. TOP students are committed to enrolling in two counseling courses at OCC during their freshmen year as part of the required support & resources the program offers.

HOW TO JOIN?

High school students interested for fall 2025, will need to submit a TOP Interest Form (see below).

TOP ORIENTATIONS

All students will need to complete a TOP Orientation (held in the spring 2025).

Prior to a TOP Orientation, students will need to apply to OCC and complete the OCC Online Orientation.

During a TOP Orientation students will discuss program eligibility and requirements, create/update SEP (if needed), and register for fall semester classes. Please contact our office via text or email to schedule a TOP Orientation.
