Social Media and Publicity Policies

Social media and publicity offer many benefits to Student Clubs and Organizations as it allows student clubs and organizations to reach out to other OCC students and gain the attention of potential club members. This webpage will outline OCC Social Media and Publicity guidelines.

How do we register our social media accounts?
- Advisors must complete and review the Social Media Section on the Club Registration and Renewal Form thereby acknowledging that they have the usernames and passwords to each social media account affiliated with the club.
- Social Media handles acquired after the club has registered needs to be submitted by the club advisor via email to the Student Life and Leadership Department.
- Student club & organization social media handles are not representative of the Coast Community College District or Orange Coast College.
Can we have our own website or mobile app?
- Student clubs and organizations are prohibited from having, developing, or otherwise using non-Orange Coast College affiliated websites.
- Student clubs and organizations are prohibited from having, selling, developing, or otherwise distributing any mobile apps.
What types of social media platforms can be utilized?
