Welcome to Spring 2022! Our main goals with Starfish this semester are to see expanded adoption of the Progress Survey, and to get our students more connected with their Success Network and the Success Matters team in Starfish!
What is a progress survey? We’re glad you asked! A progress survey allows you to submit concerns and feedback to your students with the click of a checkbox. Your roster of students will appear in a grid like the one below, and all you need to do is check the box that best fits the feedback the student needs. You’ll have an option to write individual comments if you wish. Click “submit” and that’s it! Your whole class just learned how their doing in your course, how to get help if they need it, and may even receive a follow up from our Success Matters Team.
But wait! There is so much more to Starfish than a progress survey! Want to become a Starfish Superstar? To request access to our Canvas training shell, email Erin Fitzgerald (efitzgerald@occ.cccd.edu), Starfish Administrator. The shell includes a visual walk through of how to submit your progress survey, future training events, and a link to our test site/sandbox where you can try Starfish features without sending them to your students.
