CLASS DESCRIPTIONS 

ELL A020N - Citizenship 1 

This noncredit course is one in a series of two courses designed to help beginning non-native speakers of English prepare for the U.S. citizenship test. Students will learn about important elements of U.S. history, geography, government, and culture. Special attention will be given to writing conventions and reading skills assessed in the U.S. citizenship interview.

Noncredit. Pass/No Pass/Satisfactory Progress. Not degree applicable. Not Transferable.

ELL A021N - Citizenship 2 

This noncredit course is one in a series of two courses designed to help beginning non-native speakers of English prepare for the U.S. Citizenship test. Students will learn about essential elements of U.S. history, geography, government, and culture. Special attention will be given to speaking and listening skills necessary for the U.S. citizenship interview.

Noncredit. Pass/No Pass/Satisfactory Progress. Not degree applicable. Not Transferable.

 

Citizenship and ELL classes are noncredit (0 units) and tuition-free.

PRACTICE CITIZENSHIP INTERVIEW TEST 

Students currently enrolled in an English Language Learning class can practice for their Citizenship Interview Test with USCIS by scheduling a 1:1 appointment with one of our certified test proctors. Please contact the Adult Education Office to schedule an appointment.
